Len, thank you for your patience in having me understand what would be necessary to repair a 1960s teak chair. It looks new, the workmanship is seamless and I admire the craftsmanship it takes to complete. Most appreciated, Suzanne Dasgupta

I recently hired Len to refinish some drawers for a dresser I wanted to refinish (I decided to paint the frame myself). Len absolutely blew me away with the care he gave to my project. He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and made me feel like my dresser was his number one priority. He shared loads of advice and even went out of his way to call me with his ideas to improve the frame that I was working on. He truly cared about seeing me happy with the finished piece, whether it involved his part of the project or mine. In the end, thanks in large part to the beautiful work he did on the drawers and the encouragement and support he so generously shared with me, I am beyond thrilled with the result. I can't recommend Walser Furniture Refinishing enough.

The Friends of the Britannia Schoolhouse in Mississauga have recently had the wonderful donation of a chalk bench that would have been used in a one room schoolhouse. It had, however, been painted with a very bright yellow paint as well as some ghastly MacTac! One of our members has had Len refinish several pieces of furniture so we felt he would be the one to bring it back to its pristine condition!! Well, our chalk bench is almost unrecognizable!! It has been restored to its former beauty and now is proudly displayed under the chalkboard on the teacher\\\'s platform!! Thank you so much, Len!!

I have had a few pieces refinished by Len. I had my grandmothers chest of drawers and round living room table done and my parents cedar chest. He told me so many things about these pieces I did not know, like approx. how old they were and what kind of wood they were. Each piece turned out beautifully. The attention to detail is amazing. He actually made a foot for the cedar chest that was missing and a key for the locks on the dresser. Len and his crew are master craftsman and obviously love the work they do. I also had a beaten up piano bench he was anxious to repair. It is so beautiful now. These pieces will be treasured by me for years to come and my children for generations to come. Thanks Len

Len is not only a skilled craftsman, but also a true artisan. His ability to refinish/restore some of our antique pieces over the years to their original state is remarkable. He is truly one-of-a-kind.

As the Curator of Casa Loma, I appreciate the beauty of restoration. Len Walser's talent for restoring antique furniture is truly inspiring. Casa Loma has acquired a beautiful Victorian Antique Bedroom Set, circa 1880 from Len and it has already proven to be a great asset to the castle. The time and care that Len Walser puts into his restorations is evident. The pieces have become integral to the outfitting of Casa Loma's new Bridal Suite, adding to the antique splendor of the castle. Casa Loma looks forward to any future opportunities it may have to work with Len Walser. Len's craftsmanship is magnificent and we thank him for the contribution he has made to Casa Loma.

When we received our antique four drawer slant front writing desk (secretary) from France the four legs were badly broken, and there was no hope to use them to restore the furniture piece that we have kept in the family for well over one hundred year. We submitted our problem to Len Walser, who was shocked when he saw how badly the legs were broken. Len's passion for antique furniture is so great that he decided to take on the challenge to rebuilt four identical legs from scratch, and to attach them as sturdy as they were originally. In order to do that, he had to take the time to mull over a solution until he found the one giving him entire satisfaction. To build and attach the new legs the perfect way, Len had to create tools to help him to reproduce the original shape of the legs and carve the shapes required to attach the legs as solidly as they were before. To complete the restoration, Len asked his friend specialist Bruce to put on the legs a veneer that replicates the original one. The result is outstanding. The four legs have exactly the same shape, look, and colour as the original ones. Looking at the secretary no one can tell that the legs have been broken and replaced. We thank Len for his dedication to quality and superb restoration work. We have been impressed by his talent and commitment to restoring fine wood furniture.

Our intent was to write a unique testimonial for Walser Furniture Refinishing and Antique Restoration. However, after reading all the glowing accolades herein, there’s little to add except that we wholeheartedly affirm that Len, and his team, is a professional artisan and truly passionate about his work (I know from the use of his “outside” rather than “inside” voice – ha!). Len’s unique attention to detail was evidenced by us after seeing refinished several pieces of family furniture brought over from Holland more than 50 years ago (it was Len who brought to our attention that some of the furniture folds down; who knew?). There’s no greater advertising than “word-of-mouth”. If after reading this testimonial you would like to see our beautifully refinished furniture to better inform yourself about making the ‘right’ decision to refinish/restore, then please contact Len who has our permission to share our phone number.  Len Rocks! (And now so does our antique chair) Every day, we meet people who generally go through the motions to provide service to others. It is rare to find others who have found their true calling and are passionate about what they know and what they can do. Len is one such individual. My mother has a turn-of-the-18th century wooden rocking chair that belonged to my late father’s grandmother that had been well used, and needed serious repairs. Over the years, the chair had been broken, glued and painted over to a state that finally rendered it unusable and worthy of the trash. Recently, my father passed away, and the restoration of the family rocking chair had been one of a few projects he wanted to complete, but sadly never did. My mom and I took the chair to Len assuming that little could be done. From the moment that Len examined the chair, he immediately began to tell us all about the chair – the history, the type of wood and how it was made. Len went further to describe in great detail, what he was going to do to repair and restore the piece and actually showed us other pieces of furniture being brought back to life. This would include stripping all the old paint off, disassembling the chair, milling new spindles, creating support arms, sanding, staining and finishing. As a person who knows what end of a hammer to hold, I was very impressed with Len’s arsenal of tools, instruments and devices to get the job done right. My family’s 200 year old rocking chair now looks incredible. The piece looks like it was just made and I would challenge anyone to find a more solid built antique rocking chair. This chair could be used daily and will likely last another 200 years or more. We are so pleased with Len’s work. He exceeded our expectations and resurrected a cherished memory to my family’s home. My mom is so happy and my dad would have been proud. Thank you Len for your professionalism, passion and talent. James from Etobicoke.

Bill and I are still raving to anyone who listens about what a fine artist Len is with any furniture he refinishes. Our old tired dining suite is now a thing of beauty. The men in our family are usually hard to impress and they are blown away by the fine workmanship. Thanks again Len.

I inherited my mother's lovely French Provincial dining room set, consisting of a large oval table, with two leaves, 8 chairs, a large hutch and tea cart. It was looking quite worn and dated when we asked Mr. Wasler to come in and advise us on refinishing the entire set. It should be known that while the table top is composed of a rich pecan wood, the rest of the pieces were originally stained in an antique pale yellow finish. At the time, we had no idea what type of wood was underneath the antiqued finish. Len took one chair back to his shop for stripping. The next morning I called Len with my concern at changing the antiqued finish to a dark wood finish. When we spoke, he had quite a surprise for us. Underneath,he had discovered lovely cherry wood, a somewhat unusual find as cherry is not as plentiful as it once was. When we saw the sample chair, we were stunned at the beauty of the wood. We shipped the rest of the pieces to Len's shop to begin what would became a very detailed and labour intensive project. The stripping process was an immense job due to the size and detail of the pieces. We went to visit Len and our furniture a number of times over a four week period. With each visit we could see the artistry and passion of a master at work. The pieces were immaculately restored, from the wood to the detailed groves, to the small holes that hold the hardware. The hardware itself was beautifully polished and restored to it's original beauty. Len accompanied the delivery truck when the furniture was returned to our home. He was not just overseeing the delivering of furniture, he was returning beautifully restored memories of growing up in a happy home with a mother that loved to cook. Not only is Len a true Master, a legacy passed down from father to son, he is passionate for the artistry that goes into the restoration of beautiful furniture and has an acute understanding of the sentimental value it holds for his clients. I highly recommend Len and his staff to restore, not only furniture, but memories. Maureen Mastracci.

Just wanted to say "thank you" again. Although the dining room chairs came to you after the table was completed and returned, you matched the colour perfectly and you reinforced every single part of each chair to make them durable. You also saved me additional time dealing with the upholsterer too. Then you brought my fabric to your contact without me having to be there and he did an amazing job matching the pattern for each chair seat. The dining set looks awesome. I'm looking forward to the next project. Thank you Len.9 Anne

I'm so glad I found you Len! The table looks absolutely beautiful and I am so appreciative that you've given it the opportunity to become a treasured heirloom for my children, and theirs. Thank you for saving the memories. Anne
Anne Matto – 2013-03-04 10:25:32

I can only confirm all of the comments that have made previously. No one does it better. If anyone has been tempted by other companies that set up shop in kiosks at the mall don't waste your time with them. Their pricing tactics are designed to prey on those that are unknowledgeble in this field.

Len is a truly inspired, dedicated and talented craftsman. He took a new piece of furniture, stained it and antiqued it. He listened to our ideas and called us half way through the process because he wasn't happy with the result. He was absolutely correct and in the end, the final result was a great piece of furniture which both my husband and I love! Thanks Len for all your patience!

Len just completed restoration of an 80 year old Tea Wagon that belonged to my mother. We trusted his judgement and recommendations and we were ecstatic with the results. The workmanship was excellent and he is first rate and fun guy to deal with.

We could not be more pleased with the work that Len and his team have done for us. Len is honest, professional and knowledgeable when it comes to the refinishing and restoration of furniture. We have had our kitchen suite, an antique dining suite, and a pair of antique Victorian sitting chairs restored and refinished by Walser. Several of the pieces required some very tricky repairs. All have turned out just spectacular! His passion for his job, and his attention to detail are clearly apparent! Len is very easy, comfortable and helpful to work with and we would highly recommend Len and Walser Refinishing without reservation!

We have a walnut entrance table that was a flea-market find and it needed to be refinished. Len discovered that it expanded in size and had a very complex mechanical system within it that carried a Canadian Patent #. He took it apart & documented where each metal piece went to make it work. He added feet carved to match and refinished every inch, inside & out. He lined the drawers with pool table felt. We now have a very beautiful, unique piece of furniture at the entrance of our house. Who knew ??? Len knows wood like no one else!!

Len and his team did a wonderful job of restoring a pine cupboard that I wanted to pass along to my niece. He made great suggestions which resulted in a beautiful job. Thank you for your extra care - and total interest in my project!

Well, what can I say about Len and his company. They restored a circa 1920 Buffet and Table, plus some chairs from the 1890's, that was amazing. Len has a passion about his work, that I have never seen anywhere else. His attention to detail is second to none. This man is a tribute to his trade, and I can honestly say, that he is a true artisan. If you choose Walser restoration, you will not be disappointed.

Recently Len came to our home and brought back to life my old dresser which had great sentimental value - the talent he exibited is extremely high and unsurpassed, as well as his huge attention to detail and the creative methods and ideas used at his disposal to bring back a tired, old looking piece of furniture back to life - I would highly recommend him to anyone who is in the market looking to have old furniture restored - he did a fantastic job!

We have been just amazed at the work you performed for us. You have taken a 60 year old dresser and desk and made them new again. You can be sure that we will enjoy using both pieces for years to come. And the chair that accompanies the desk (we thought it was a goner!)you have made new again. When thinking about having the job done, I visited 4 refinishing shops in the Mississauga and Oakville area. You gave me the grand tour of your shop and quickly convinced me that you could do the job. The other 3 shops were just out of the question. They all appeared junky and disorganized, and none of them could provide me with a good feeling that my furniture was going to be refinished in decent time, even though in one case, their website seemed to be attractive and up-to-date. On the other hand, you gave us a date for completion and then you were finished ahead of time. Many thanks for making our old, but good, furniture come to life again.

I have known Leonard and his family for over 35 years. I recently took over my families heirlooms such as a quarter cut oak dinning room table and chairs, a buffet, a double bow glass cabinet and an oak veneer glass cabinet and a victrola to name a few pieces. I would only trust Leonard with my family valuables. He is a true craftsman. I know my parents trusted his father back in the day and Leonard is chip off the old block. He works hard and does a complete and excellent job. Leonard I cannot thank you enough for all your great work. Regards, Al

Len has just refinished a 35 year old kitchen table for us. I have never had anything refinished before and I am so pleased with the table!! The work exceeded our expectations and working with Len was so much fun. It was wonderful to work with someone who was so enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable about his profession. I am now looking at antiques and retro furniture in a different light now that we know Len and the work he does. Lisa Milonas 2011-10-14

Perfection is the standard for Len Walser and nothing short is satisfactory. Len has restored and refinished several pieces including a dining room set dating back to the 1800's. The result was spectacular; a show piece. He is a true crafteman and artisan. His enthusiasim is boundless as is his expertise. You can be assured he treats every piece for restoration as his own. He is caring and will explain every detail to the fullest. To say we exceptionally pleased is an understatement.

Len Walser is a true craftsman. My husband and I have had the pleasure of availing ourselves of Len’s services on numerous occasions. Whether it be restoring family heirlooms or refurbishing original Italian dining furniture, Len has consistently demonstrated a keen eye for detail and a passion for perfection. He is a man of many talents and we would wholeheartedly recommend him without hesitation.

Len is a refinishing super star. The magic he did on our family heirloom 200 year-old side board china cabinet was truly amazing. It took almost 3 months of painstaking hard work and tender loving care to nurse the almost destroyed antique to back to its full glory. In the end it was probably Len's greatest professional achievement and success story. Len - if anybody has the "old world" skill to make old and broken, into new-again and beautiful - it's you. You can not be more recommended !! Keep up the great works of art. Thanks E & R

Len Walser has refinished several of our family heirlooms; always excellent work and tackled with lots of enthusiasm. His enjoyment in his work is evident and his knowledge of the craft was obvious when he came to our home to view our pieces and discuss our needs.
